Shadow of Hate
By Kimberly Ford

I think that hate is when someone dislikes someone because of their sexual orientation, gender, race, or religion. In hatred first comes fear, then comes hate, and then comes an act of ignorance. Most of the causes of hate are because of fear. When you first meet someone you don't know anything about them. This not knowing excites and encourages them to get to know more about each other. The people that don't get so encouraged start to strongly dislike the person for reasons they have no control over. Which leads them to hate since they are already scared. Some acts of hate may have a negative or positive reaction. This is ignorane since you may perform the act because you don't know what else to do. In some acts of hate, violence may take place towaeds others or even towards yourself. There are some ways you can prevent hate. You might be able to prevent it by approaching your fear, or even by gettting to know more about your fear before you prejudge someone. You can also prevent it by going ti get help from family members, friends, or even a doctor. In this report I found out that a lot off people prejudge others in a lot of different ways. Some of the time they probably don't know it. To end prejudice, everyone needs to think or get to know a person before they prejudge someone or are prejudged by someone else.

One Voice
by Shannon Alexander

I have this crazy vision, a crazy dream that may sound strange.
But I know somehow it's real.

I live in a free nation, so i have the wings to believe.
I wanna sing a song,
My words will fly
Coming from one voice,
Sing from my heart.
There is one sky above.
If I could have the chance, if I would just try,
I would sing one song from the heart with one voice.
My words will be heard
I live in this world and I will believe that one song from the heart will make a difference.
My words will speak for the weak,
make them stronger.

There is only one sky, the space is not there for nothing.
If I had one chance, I would sing.

But there is one sky above, there is just one source of love.
If I could get one chance
I would sing a song that heals because I have a mission to be free and still believe.
I wanna sing for everone.
One song, from the heart, singing with only one voice.

It may be a crazy mission, but no one can stop me from believing and dreaming
Because I am free.
Free forever.

One sky above, there's just one source of love.
If I had just one chance
One try,
Singing form the heart,
Just one song, one voice.

What I Would Do to Improve My Neighborhood
By Ashley Clemon

Some neighborhoods don;t need improvement, but there are some neigborhoods that need some impovements. To improve a neighborhood i would look at some of the issues that I need to a neighborhood like gangs, drugs, litter, vacant buildings, and transportation. I would improve a neighborhood by moving more jobs closer to the city so the citizens' tax dollars wouldn't be used on transportation instead the money can be used on another important issue. To improve a neighborhood I would clear all the vacant buildings; I would cal this O.N.V.P. which stands for operation no vacant buildings which would help the appearance of the neighborhood better. I would get rid of all the gangs and guns in school. I would decrease teen violence and drugs. i would get teens of the corners and into books. To improve a neighborood I would get citizens involved to help the children of today which will become the adults of the future. To improve a neigborhood I wiuld put more police officers to keep everything in control. Another way i would improve a neighborhood is to pick up all the litter off the ground and into the rash cans. I would limit the drinking becasue drunk people end uo in more crime in neighborhoods. I have programs to help children ot get involved in drugs, gangs, and droping out of school. This paper is about improving a neighborhood so i hope some of my ideas would help improve a neghborhood.

By Jamal Williams Jr.

I was very apprehensive about going to Aim High. I ddi not know what it looked like, or who went there. I thought we were going to do a lot of work. I thought it was going to be just like real school. When I came the first day, I had a lot of fun. On the second day, I met realy nice teachers. i want to come to Am High until high school.
